The Accommodation Comprises:

THE ACCOMMODATION AT BAKER'S COTTAGE IS COMFORTABLE AND WELCOMING.  Most of the rooms are decorated using Farrow & Ball paints and attention has been paid to creating a relaxing atmosphere.  The light and airy central stairwell imparts a sense of space in this little 2-bedroomed cottage.  Despite being located close to the town centre, its position behind our own home shelters it from street noise so that you are awakened in the morning by birdsong rather than traffic.

The ENTRANCE is off the terrace, which is accessed via a covered passageway from the street, into the vestibule or the KITCHEN/DINER.  This is equipped with an oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, slow cooker, toaster, kettle and a range of cooking equipment, cutlery and crockery.  There is a pine table with 4 chairs.   Dishwashing tablets/liquid, washing powder, tea towels etc. are provided. This leads on to the HALL and STAIRS.  A doorway off, with a single step, gives access to the LOUNGE with soft seating for 4, TV, dvd player, electric stove with log-effect, board games and books then on to the vestibule which has coathooks.

We leave a WELCOME PACK, which varies in content but always includes something for you to have with your tea or coffee when you arrive. Salt, pepper, tea, coffee, milk and cooking oil are also supplied.

Upstairs are 2 BEDROOMS.  The master bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has a zip-and-link bed (this can be set up as a 5ft kingsize or 2 x 2ft 6ins full-length singles).  A hairdryer is provided. All bed linen is supplied and beds are made up for your arrival.

The family BATHROOM is spacious and includes a bath, bidet, washbasin and shower cubicle with electric shower.  Shower gel and soap are provided along with a supply of toilet paper etc.  Fresh bath and handtowels (1 each for each guest) will be in the bathroom.

There is no private outside space as this is shared with ourselves and is largely a utility area (for dustbins etc) and access to the bike shed and our raised courtyard garden.  The garden is not available to guests but a table and chairs are provided on the decked patio at the side of the cottage by the bike shed so that guests may enjoy a glass of wine outside in the evening or breakfast al fresco in the morning (kept in bike shed in winter). There is also an extending, wall-mounted, outdoor airer for guests to dry washing when the weather is fine.  There is room for bikes on the deck or in the bike shed (bike shed not available from the beginning of November to the end of February). Surfboards may also be kept on the deck but not taken into the cottage or bike shed.

PARKING: There is on-street parking on the other side of the road limited to 2 hours between 8am and 6pm and subject to availability. This side is double-yellow lines but unloading is permitted. The nearest car park is behind the Pannier Market (just one street away) and costs £1.10/hour, £5.50/day or £22.50/week. Tourist Permits are available at £45 per week and these can be used in all Torridge District Council Car Parks except the Burrows/Sandymere (but including Westward Ho! Main). Prices correct as at 15th March 2024.

PLEASE NOTE:

There is no broadband but free Wifi is available at the nearby pannier market, the library and at various cafes and pubs in town.

No smoking or vaping in the cottage.

Bideford is hilly and Baker's Cottage is located on a hill.
